After nearly one year of usage, I have decided to downgrade my X Premium+ subscription to a regular Premium account. The short version is that I do not think it is value for money, which becomes clear when you look at the feature list above from X themselves.

• My X feed not being fully ad-free does not bother me.
• The reply boost is only relevant if you post a lot of replies to big accounts.
• I have this blog since 2001 for writing articles, and have no reason to switch to X for blogging.
• Radar is a genuinely confusing product that I tried to use only once.

When you look at the price difference between Premium and Premium+, it's just not worth it in my honest opinion. In the past year, my following and engagement has actually decreased, and while I am not attributing that decrease to Premium+ usage, I saw no evidence that it helped stop the rot.

What would make me pay for Premium+ again?

As a small content producer, I would be more-than-happy to "pay to win" on X, in order to get my content visible to more people. The following features would be actually be useful to someone like me:

1. A "For you" boost - since X took the controversial decision to make "For you" rather than "Following" the default tab on the home page, having a large follower count is now largely meaningless. Instead, trending in the algorithm to gain placement on the "For you" tab is now driving traffic, and we are seeing that feed flooded with engagement bait to game that algorithm. Forget the reply boost, give me a For you boost instead!
2. Let me submit my podcast RSS feed to X - as a podcaster I would like to be able to post my .mp3 episodes to X without having to convert them to videos first, followed by having to manually upload them. I tried that manual process for a while, and gave up due to the low return on effort. Please give us an embedded audio player for podcasts (X already does this for playing back Spaces), with support for podcast feed subscriptions.
3. Stop penalizing me for posting external links - I will always have to post links to external web sites, including this blog, my podcast, my YouTube etc. I should not be penalized for doing this, instead these posts to my original content should be boosted and I am happy to pay for that.

Right now, Premium+ feels like a product without an audience. Who is it for?
