Changes to the sections

As mentioned in my last post here, I am presently doing a lot of work on Fedora 6 in terms of setting up a new test server. During this process I am taking a lot of notes on the steps I am carrying out, with a view to publishing my notes on this site as a set of tutorials. Specifically these are the kinds of tasks I am carrying out lately:

As you can see this is starting to look like enough content to fill out a whole section of this site, let alone a series of articles, which has got me thinking about the sections in this site in general. Firstly I am happy with the Design and Imagery sections as the content in those areas are largely consistent with the names of the sections, so they will remain unchanged.

The Business section is broad enough to enable me to include topics as diverse as marketing to economics, project management and licensing. I am pretty happy with this section and have lots of ideas on how to expand it.

The Browsing section has really acted as a catch-all general purpose sections, and to be honest I would rather have something more focused. I would also like to produce a series of articles on security, especially in the area of building secure web applications but also other more general computer security concerns. Lastly, I think that the timing might not be right for a forum as I am presently experiencing a very low amount of people signing up and adding comments to the articles, so if this trend was to continue I would end up with an empty forum that nobody was using.

To summarise here are my plans for the new site layout:

Hopefully this will spruce things up a little and encourage me to produce more focused content in the years ahead.
