You may have noticed the appearance of some ads at the bottom of articles on here this week, courtesy of Google. My aim with these ads is to cover the hosting and domain name costs of running this site, which amount to approximately €300 ($351) per year.

If I make as little as $1 a day from the ads it will cover these costs. Generally I don't like advertisements on sites, especially if they take up much space or are animated, which only serve to distract your audience from your content. I believe that Google have got it right however with their simple text-based ads, which can be coloured by you to match your site's colour scheme.

Work is ongoing on the new version, however due to work commitments (gotta pay the rent!), the new version may not be ready by the end of November. While the new framework is coming along nicely, I still need to write a new publishing system for the articles, and then port them over to this system one at a time. On top of that, I have to do a user commenting system and a forum, while I have not even thought about how the new front-end is going to look! Will get there in the end!
